What roses are you dying to plant (or have you planted) this year? I'm waiting to see whether several classics will be available from Vintage Gardens in California . . . specifically, City of York, Hawkeye Belle, Mme. Caroline Testout, Silver Jubilee, Rosa Mundi, and Gloire de Dijon.
I also have several dozen roses that I grew in pots last season, then covered the pots in shredded leaves for winter protection. all seem to be doing just fine.
We need to dig a rather large new rosebed for them . . . and last year was such a hot, dry season that the bed never got dug.
